POLK COUNTY DA ACCEPTS PLEA FROM CO-CONSPIRATOR IN DOUBLE HOMICIDE CASE
Tuesday evening, one year to the day, that a Polk County couple were murdered by their son, Andrew Thomas Jondle, his co-conspirator, Cindy Lou Beck, entered no contest pleas to two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Murder. Beck will receive a 20 year sentence for her role in the murders.
David Scott Jondle and Marilyn Ruth Jondle were found dead last August at their farm in an unincorporated area of Polk County, Southwest of Dallas.
Pursuant to a plea agreement, Beck pled no contest, admitting that the state could prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she did conspire with Andrew Jondle to murder each of his parents in a plan the two hatched shortly after they began their relationship in July of 2010. Polk County District Attorney, Stan Butterfield, said the apparent motive was theft of money to avoid being evicted from the Salem apartment where Jondle and Beck lived together. Butterfield said it also appears the two wished to inherit sufficient financial resources to prove to the state that Beck could provide a proper home for her children which had been taken into Department of Human Services' custody months prior to the Jondle killings. The victims had strongly disapproved of the relationship of their 20 year old son, Andrew Jondle, and Cindy Beck who was 27 years older than Andrew Jondle.
The victims' family was consulted prior to the state agreeing to the terms of this plea agreement. Both Beck and Jondle are scheduled to be sentenced on September 19, 2011.

Cause of last week house fire determined
Salem Fire Department Fire Investigator today determined the cause of the fire which occurred on August 25, 2011 in the 5100 block of Cherie Ct SE, Salem, Oregon to be accidental and electrical in nature. The area of origin was located in one of the house's bedroom and spread to the attic and remaining portions of the house. Fire damages are estimated between $100,000 to $150,000 to structure and contents. The fire also damaged the adjacent house. Both occupants and house owners have insurance.
