MARION COUNTY ROAD CLOSURE NEAR AURORA STATE AIRPORT

Starting Monday August 22nd through Tuesday August 23rd, Airport Road NE near the Aurora State Airport will be closed. There will not be any access for through traffic due
to underground utility work. Any local access will be maintained off Ehlen Road NE.
All traffic will detour via Ehlen Road, State Highway 551, and Keil Road. This road
closure is located South East of the airport.
Anticipated work should be completed by Wednesday August 24th.

Salem Police Investigate Shooting

On August 17, 2011 at 10:59 p.m., the Salem Police Department and Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting at State St and 49th Ave SE. When officers arrived, they found a white male approximately 20 years of age deceased in a ditch at that location. It appears the male had been shot. The incident is in the preliminary stages of the investigation. Additional information will be forthcoming when investigators have an opportunity to conduct interviews of individuals who may have information about the shooting.
