SUSPECT ENTERS NO CONTEST PLEA TO ANIMAL NEGLECT CHARGES

Mikerra Lee Lane, 36, who was the owner of the horses and llamas seized from the farm on Towers Road SE on March 23, 2001, entered a plea of no contest to six charges Animal Neglect 2 in Judge John Wilson's court on July 7th.
She is scheduled for sentencing in Judge Wilson's courtroom on August 31st, 2001 at 8:30am.
The ownership of the llamas and horses originally seized was transferred to the Willamette Valley Llama Association and the Lighthouse Animal Sanctuary pursuant to a civil lien. They will arrange adoptions for the animals to recoup some of their expenses for rescuing the animals.
