* UPDATE * INVESTIGATION IS NOW A HOMICIDE - HART DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING SUSPICIOUS DEATH

Detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death that occurred at the Devonshire Court Apartments, on Devonshire Avenue NE earlier this morning.
We are processing a search warrant for the apartment and, once signed, Detectives will conduct a thorough search to collect forensic evidence.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim died of homicidal violence, but no further information is being released regarding how he was killed. The motive for the shooting is not clear at this time.
Detectives are still working to identify the victim and notify his family. His name will not be released until the notification is made.
Leads have developed and Detectives are interviewing more than one person of interest.
No arrests have been made, but we feel there is no further immediate danger to the local community as a result of this shooting.

Detectives assigned to the multi-agency Homicide Assault Response Team (HART) are investigating a shooting reported at 7:27am, Sunday. The Marion County Sheriff's Office is the lead agency.
Our Deputies responded to a call of "shots fired" at an apartment in the 4100 block of Devonshire Avenue, NE in Salem.
They arrived within minutes of the call to find a deceased male adult in the apartment. He has not been identified at this time.
The investigation is on-going. There is no further information available for release at this time. Updates will be issued as information becomes available.
