Oregon State Police (OSP), Columbia County Sheriff's Office and Scappoose Police Department arrested a man late Saturday afternoon who was sought after fleeing on foot from an OSP trooper this morning in northwest Multnomah County. The suspect was wanted on Parole and Probation violation warrants.
On July 9, 2011 at approximately 5:54 p.m. SHANE DAVID HANSEN, age 30, was taken into custody following a 30 minute standoff while he was armed with a large knife inside an outbuilding in the 51000 block of Highway 30. A tip led officers to the area where they subsequently took him into custody.
On July 9, 2011 at approximately 7:42 a.m. a trooper stopped to check on suspicious circumstances upon seeing a man leaning into a parked 1997 Honda Accord four-door at the entrance of a gated driveway leading to private property on Rocky Point Road about 1/2 mile south of Highway 30. The trooper contacted the man, later identified as HANSEN, who was uncooperative and then fled on foot west along the driveway toward a heavily wooded area.
HANSEN was wanted on outstanding warrants from the State of Oregon (Parole Violation) and Washington County (Probation Violation). He is also on probation in Columbia County for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
The investigation also determined the Honda was stolen out of St. Helens.
HANSEN will be lodged in the Columbia County Jail on the outstanding warrants. A decision on additional charges is pending.
